Robert Martin Heise, age 91, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2020. Robert was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on December 11, 1928 to Herman A. and Emma E. (nee. Huth). He graduated from Aero Mechanics Vocational High School in Detroit.
Robert was married to Anna F. Harrington on November 18, 1950; they were married 67 years. Robert was then drafted into the Army and was stationed in Alaska during the time of the Korean War. After leaving the Army, Robert became a Detroit Police Officer and retired as a Lieutenant 37 years later.
He spent many of his retirement years tinkering in his garage making hundreds of badge and award ribbons to be worn by his many friends on the police force. Robert especially enjoyed all the years of fishing with his family.
Robert is survived by his children, Dianne (Joe), Eric (Laura), Carol, Lee (Pat) and Erica (Jairod); grandchildren, Asia (David), Kristen (Dave), Kyle (Larissa), Kari (Chris), Kelley (Meryl), and Josie; great-grandchildren, Norah, Kate, Molly, and Alexander; brother Raymond Heise, along with many nephews, nieces, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna; parents, Herman and Emma; siblings, Fred (Dolores), Larry (Betty), Allan (Hanni), Lois, Dolores and Lola Mae Heise; sister in law, Dorothy Heise; son in law, Mike Steiger; great-grandson, Carter Heise.
Memorial donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Wounded Warriors of Michigan.
