Virginia Jo Rusnell (Frontiera), also well known as Ginny, Vinci, Grandma and Mom, age 69 of Livonia, Michigan left this earth on Monday, December 26th, 2022. She will be sorely missed.
Virginia was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 6th, 1953 to Josephine and Frank Frontiera. She graduated from St. Philip Neri in 1971 and proceeded to travel the world on her own terms.
Virginia found her soulmate while both were working for the Free Press and was married to Gary Rusnell on March 7, 1979; they were married for 43 years. They were never apart and stood side by side fighting injustice and standing up for the underdogs.
Ginny enjoyed camping almost anywhere in Michigan, Detroit Rock and Roll, telling tales of her hippie travels all over Europe, and sharing her stuffed animal collection with her beloved grandkids.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Gary Rusnell, her son Vincent Rusnell, her daughter Melissa (Raymond) Arondoski, her grandchildren, Helena and Josephine Arondoski, her step-son Breeze Rusnell, sister Grace (Anthony) Basta, niece Teri (Mark) Piper and nephew Dominic (Daniel) Basta as well as many other family and friends.
Virginia is preceded in death by her mother and father, Josephine and Frank Frontiera.
A Celebration of Life is planned for early May 2023, when she would have celebrated her 70th birthday. Details to come.
“Sometimes an angel, sometimes a hell raiser, always a strong woman.”
We love and miss you.
