Violet Irene "Riutta" Tuomi

Violet I. Tuomi passed away on April 19, 2018 at the Villa at Green Lakes Estates where she was a resident since May 2015. Violet was born on May 13, 1933 in Hancock to Eino and Hilda Riutta. She married Kenneth Tuomi on December 4, 1954 in Hancock and started a family in Chassell before relocating to the Farmington Hills area where they lived most of their life.   Violet is survived by son James (Theresa); grandchildren Matthew, Kathryn (James), Ryann (Michael), and Heather (Karen); sisters Lillian (Ron) Hermanson and Esther (Richard) Hietala; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.   Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Kenneth; daughter Karen (Donald) Collins; sons Glen, Michael and Martin Tuomi; brothers Wilbert (Aileen), Richard, Robert, Raymond, and Russell (Beverly) Riutta; sisters Verna (Alvin) Johnson, Mildred (Donald) Huhta and Alyce (Ron) Jestila.   Violet will be remembered as a mother who loved her children. Her family and friends adored her kindness and spirited humor that made them laugh.
