Timothy Jon Hawkins

Timothy Jon “The Hawk” Hawkins, 80, of Livonia passed away July 4, 2020. Tim was born in Detroit on November 11, 1939 to Grant and Doretha Hawkins. He graduated from Clarenceville High School in 1958.   Tim was married to Ruth (nee. Williams) on January 15, 1966; they were married 54 years.   When he was not working as a carpenter for Bob Stern Building Company, Tim enjoyed playing and watching all sports, but he particularly loved modified fast pitch, which he played and managed for many years.   Tim is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Christopher (Wendy) and Michael; grandchildren, Brandon and Jeremy; sisters, Susan (James) Gibb, and Martha (the late Tom) Sarnowski; brothers, David (Linda) Hawkins, and Christopher (Susan) Hawkins; sisters-in-law, Charlene, Sylvia, and Shirley; brother-in-law, Karl Schneider; plus many nieces, nephews, family and friends.   Tim is preceded in death by sisters, Ann Hawkins and Nancy Schneider; brothers, James, Jeff, and Joel.   Visitation will be held Friday, July 10th from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154. Masks are required for visitation. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be held at a later date.   Memorial donations in memory of Tim may be made to Batten Disease Support and Research Association, 2780 Airport Drive, Suite 342, Columbus, OH 43219.
