Sally A. "Sarah" Maynes

December 31, 1969 — February 3, 2012

Sarah “Sally” passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3rd, at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia. She was 79, and will be dearly missed by friends and loved ones who referred to Sally as having “a heart of gold.” She is the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Maynes; and dear mother of Robert "Bob" (Dreama) Maynes, Pamela Moore, Terry Maynes and her late husband, William "Bill" Maynes. Adored by her grandchildren, Sally is survived by Aaron (Kristin) and Cory Moore, Robert, Dustin, Hayley and Katrina Maynes. She is also the proud great grandmother of Abigail Moore. They think of their dear Grandma in these words: "A Grandma is warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembers all of your accomplishments and forgets all of your mistakes. She is someone you can tell your secrets and worries to, and she hopes and prays that all your dreams come true. She always loves you, no matter what...She is an encouraging word and a tender touch. She is full of proud smiles. She is the one person in the world who loves you with all her heart." (an excerpt from a poem by Barbara Cage) The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Friday, February 10th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Finnish Cultural Center located at 35200 West Eight Mile Road in Farmington Hills. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sally be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Please share a memory or thought.
