Mary "Nee Stempien" Walters

MARY was 100 years of age, just 4 months shy of her 101st birthday, at the time of her death. She is the beloved wife of the late Aloysius Stempien; and dear mother of Marie (Chester) Smith, and Aloisus (Christine) Stempien, and the late Agatha Stempien, Edward Stempien, and infant daughter. Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Jacob and Anelia Dubiel; and siblings: Bernice Urbancyzk, and Joseph Dubiel. Mary is the adored grandmother of 8: Evelyn and Steve, Colleen and Mike, Michael, Patty and Joe, Karen and George, Sherri and Dave, Eddie, Ricky and Kristi. She is the very proud great grandmother of 14: Donny, Mikey, Marie and Jeff, Becky and Kimball, Krysten, Jason, Brian, Joshua, Kali, Rachel, Alex, Phoebe, Duke and Paige. Mary delighted in being the great-great grandmother of 7: Justin, Alyssa, Makenna, Brittany, Zerrick, Savannah, Elizabeth, and Baby Burden. She is survived by one sister: Genevieve Dombrowski. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation for Mary will occur during an In-State period on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Priscilla Catholic Church located at 19120 Purlingbrook Road, in Livonia. Mary will be laid to rest beside her late husband, at St. Hedwig Cemetery, in Dearborn Heights. The family suggests memorials in Mary's honor be made to the St. Priscilla Parish.
