Mary Josephine "Olsen" Snyder

Mary Josephine Snyder, 83, born January 10, 1934 in Detroit, passed away quietly with her family by her side. Long time Livonia resident, where she raised her family until 1994. Retiring to Lexington, MI with her husband Robert Dilworth Snyder, where he passed away 2002. They had seven children and were married for 48 years. Mary was preceded in death by two sons, William Peter in 2009 and Robert John in 2014. Surviving are five children, Kay, Susan, David, Judy and Mary; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mary was active in her church, teaching Catechism and caring for hospice patients at Blue Water Hospice of Port Huron. She loved traveling and spending time with her family. She returned to Westland in January 2017 to reside at American House until she passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia on Saturday, July 15th, choosing cremation. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Michigan and American House for their kindness and attention to Mary.   Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia, 48154.   Family requests memorial donations in honor of Mary be made to: Blue Water Hospice 1430 Military Street, Suite A Port Huron, Michigan 48060 or any Cancer Society or charity of choice.
