Marv Kornegger, 94, of Novi, MI., passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Marv was born in Detroit, MI., on August 7th, 1928 to Walter and Helen (Austin) Kornegger.
He attended Northwestern High School and continued on to active military service in the Marine Corps from February 1946 until November 1948 and was stationed in China following WWII. Afterwards, he enrolled in Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated in 1953 with his BA. He went on to earn his MSW from Wayne State University.
Marv was married to Lorraine Rogers on August 3rd, 1957; they were married for 50 years.
Marv worked as a social worker in child welfare and enjoyed reading, fitness, politics,
and international travel. He was also actively involved in His Anglican Church in Livonia, MI.
Marv is survived by daughters, Susan Grunkemeyer, Lynn (Jeff) Peters, and Gail (Robert) Barnes; grandchildren, Gail (Ronny), Eric (Taylor), Adam (Rachel), Sara (Demetrick), Brian (Venera), Graham (Shanel), Evan (Danielle), Robert (Jaz), Amanda (Landon), Daniel (Shelby), Brendan, and Molly; great grandchildren, Anna, Luca, Sofia, Mark, David, Isabela, Gabriela, and Bennett.
Marv is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine, his parents, Walter and Helen, his siblings, Marion, Shirley Blackwell, and Dorothy (Bill) Powers and grandchildren, Andrew Grunkemeyer and Lauren Barnes, along with his beloved dog, Teri.
Marv will be In-State for final visiting on Monday, February 6th from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 AM at His Church Anglican.
