Marlene Susan Kish

Marlene Susan (Engelhardt) Kish, age 74, of Milan, Michigan, passed away on November 12, 2023. 

Marlene was born in Detroit on August 25, 1949 to Elfriede and Alvin Engelhardt. She graduated from Redford Union High School. Over the many years she worked in several clerical and bookkeeping occupations and later nannied for several families. 

Marlene married her high school sweetheart, Keith Kish, on September 13, 1969 and were married for 54 years. 

Marlene loved being a grandmother and was always finding ways to have fun with her grandkids, especially at the holidays. Marlene was a huge animal lover, especially cats. She took care of many outdoor cats on their property, providing food and shelter as well as the numerous cats she rescued over the years. 

Marlene loved to travel, camp, and snowmobile. Marlene was involved in the National Campers and Hikers Association and local club, The Prairie Dogs and Pups for many years, as well as the Snowmads and Ford snowmobile clubs. Marlene loved to plan and often planned the camping and snowmobile events for the clubs. She was actively involved in the For Women Only snowmobile annual event raising money for the Easter Seals for over 20 years. Marlene loved to travel to tropical locations. She and Keith went on many trips and cruises over the years. In most recent years, she enjoyed time in the RV on Haas Lake in the summers. 

Marlene is survived by her husband, Keith, son Kevin (Stephanie Allen) Kish, and daughter Kim (John) Badham, and grandchildren Esther, Dennis, Anna and Evan.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Elfriede and Alvin Engelhardt and sister Sharon Engelhardt Fried. 

Services for Marlene will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 11am-2pm, with a memorial service at 2pm, at Manns Family Funeral Home, Livonia, 48154.
