Our beloved Kristen Anne Nowak, 44, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on October 25, 2025.

Kristen was born in Ann Arbor on March 14, 1981, to Kathleen Keeton and Thomas Nowak. She graduated from Huron High School and took college courses at Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University.

Kristen worked as an Academic Secretary in the Anthropology Department at the University of Michigan. She also worked as an optician at LensCrafters, Warby Parker, and America’s Best. Kristen’s passion for reading books and writing short stories was evident from a young age. She played the flute in the high school marching band and was a member of the crew team. She loved to travel and go on road trips to explore new places, local sights, and historical sites.

Kristen is survived by her mother, Kathleen Keeton; her brother, William Nowak (Elizabeth Salmonowicz); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.

Kristen is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Nowak, and aunt Deborah (Nowak) Obert.

An inurnment service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, 34205 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI. A luncheon is planned immediately following the ceremony. Instead of flowers, donations to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, a cause close to Kristen’s heart, would be greatly appreciated.
