Pfc. Kenneth Pebbles was a WWII vet, who entered the war at age 16 by stating he was 18 years old. Ken passed away quietly on Sunday, June 1st. He was a member of the 90 th Infantry Division, and was injured at Normandy in July 1944. Ken received the Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Despite serious injuries Ken lived a fulfilled life. He leaves behind his former wife, Gail Pebbles, with their children: Karen (Steve) Wilmoth, Ken (Lorri) Pebbles, Kerry (Tammi) Pebbles, Kraig (Jill) Pebbles, Kirk (Heather) Pebbles. He is the adored grandfather (and hero) to: Michael, Brian, Brittany , Kristin, Sara, Rachel, Brendan, Griffen and Kirk Ryan. He is the Loving Uncle Ken to Cindy Lane. Ken was predeceased by a sister, June, and brother, Jack. He enjoyed camping with his family and coaching his sons’ little league baseball games. Ken was lovingly known as “Pops”. The family will receive friends at the funeral home o nWednesday, June 4, from 1:00 pm until the time of Services, with military honors, at 4 pm. Rev. Dr. Steven B. Schafer will officiate.
