Kathleen "Kathy" Gail McTaggart, 63, of Westland Michigan, passed away on August 24th.
Kathy was born in Detroit on October 24, 1957, to Dolores and Richard Kolenda. She graduated from Stevenson high school in 1975 and went on to work at State Farm and Fleet Leasing before starting her family.
Kathy was married to Donald "Don" McTaggart on September 16, 1978; They were married for 42 years and were just 23 days shy of their 43rd anniversary when she passed.
Kathy worked many years as a Cafeteria worker in the Plymouth-Canton school district until she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003. She really enjoyed spending time with family, tending to her rose bushes, reading, being on her computer, creating cards for family and friends, and traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Kathy is survived by her husband Don; her twin daughters, Maria (Carlos) Lozano, and Michelle (Steve) Lyons; her 6 Grandchildren, Brooke, Jacob, Landon, Weston, Logan, and Juliana; her mother Dolores; sisters, Janet (Rick), Debbie (Pete), and Tracey (Mike); her nieces, Katie, Teresa (Scott); and nephew Carlo (Crystal), and other family and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father Richard Kolenda, her Mother-in-law Lois McTaggart, and Grandmother Cecilia Lutowski.
The visitation will be held at Manns Family Funeral Home 17000 Middlebelt Rd. Livonia, 48154 on Tuesday, August 31st from 3pm-8pm and the funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 1st at 10:00am at the funeral home.
Memorial Donations in memory of Kathy may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the Parkinson’s Foundation, or Hospice of Michigan.
