Joseph "Jesse" Stella

"JESSE" was 82 years of age at the time of his death. A U.S. Army veteran, Jesse served honorably in Korea, then went on to an assembly career with General Motors. He is the beloved husband of the late Nina; and dear father of Susan (Dennis) Boguslaw, Kathleen (Kenneth) Packer, Nancy (Barry) Jarvis, and Joseph (Brenda) Stella. Jesse is the adored grandfather of Jennifer, Christopher, Bryan, Renee, Erika, Kristy, and Daniel; and proud great grandfather of Mackenzie and Sydni. He is the brother of Mary Bretall of Bessemer, MI and Frank Stella of Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his 3 brothers Antonio "Tony", Severino, and Leno "Greasy" Stella. The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 2nd from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary prayed on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Rosary service will be led by Deacon Kevin Breen. Jesse will lie In-State on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m., until the time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., at St. Richard Catholic Church located at 35637 Cherry Hill Rd (West of Wayne Rd.) in Westland. Presiding for the Mass will be the pastor, Fr. Terence Treppa. The Mass will be followed by a United States Army Honor Guard and Committal Service at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights(23755 Military Road off of Ford Road, East of Telegraph Road).
