Janet Ruth "Roettger" Simpson

Janet Ruth Simpson, 84, of Detroit, passed away December 13, 2019. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on July 30, 1935 to Louis M. and Gertrude C. Roettger.   Janet married Ted Simpson on October 3, 1961; they were married 20 years before Ted’s passing on January 8, 1981.   Janet is survived by her children, Louis Simpson, and Cathryn (James) Breese; grandchildren, Richard (Elizabeth) Boehms, Louis Simpson, Jr, Devin Millard, Madyson (Luke) Millard-Burnham, and Jordan Simpson; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Boehms, Karli Fry, Greyson Hall, Robbie Carroll, Declan Roach, and Rosalie Burnham.   Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her daughter, Ruth Ann Standford; parents, Louis and Gertrude Roettger; sister Carol Walters.   Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home.   Janet will be In-State for Final Visiting from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.   Memorial donations in memory of Janet may be made to Endangered Wolf Center https://www.endangeredwolfcenter.org/make-donation/ or Michigan Breast Cancer Coalition http://www.mibcc.org/make-a-difference/donations/
