Janet Frances "Wilhelm" Cartier

Janet Frances Cartier, 84, of Redford, Michigan passed away on September 30, 2019.   Janet was born in Children’s Hospital in Detroit on June 19, 1935 to Louis and Margaret Wilhelm. She graduated from St. Gregory High School and received additional credits towards a degree at University of Detroit.   She married Alfred Edward Cartier, Jr on July 7, 1956 and they were married 63 years.   Janet worked as a management payroll clerk at Michigan Bell Telephone Company and at Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Virginia, near Washington D.C. Her hobbies included sewing detailed cross-stitch artwork, dresses and children’s clothing, and much artwork for their homes.   Janet is survived by her husband, Alfred; her children, Steven (Luisa), Anne Marie, John (Thomas Long), and Mary; her grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle (Joseph), Donald, Amanda and Alexander; her great-grandchildren, Jack and Maximus; her brother Donald Wilhelm and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Wilhelm.   Visitation for Janet will be held Friday, October 4th from 2:00 - 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.   Janet will be In-State for final visiting on Saturday, October 5th from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Genevieve - St. Maurice Catholic Church, 19015 Jamison, Livonia 48154.
