Jim surrendered peacefully Friday November 26. He was with his family surrounded by love, tears and laughter. And some Motown playing.
Son of Ben and Marian Hogan. Brother of Carol (Al) Morehead, Nan Hogan, and Bill (Wendy) Hogan. Uncle to Dave (Hyesu), Breanna (Will) and Katelyn.
Jim loved cars, music, his home and most of all his family.
He survived Viet Nam with two Purple Hearts as well as many more battles throughout his life. Jim had many reasons to be bitter, but instead lived his life with gratitude, compassion and generosity. A true hero in life. Jim leaves a big hole in our lives but lives in our hearts always.
We send out much gratitude to all the staff at St Mary’s of Livonia. Everyone treated him (and us) with great respect, care, and compassion like he was the most special person that he is. A tribute to them especially during this challenging time in hospitals. Thank you
His family will be gathering privately and Jim will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery
