Iris Antonia "Rodriguez" Wand

Iris Antonia Rodriguez was born May 12, 1923 in New York City. Her parents, Dionisio and Antonia, were recent immigrants from Spain.  She had an older brother, Dionisio, known as Pete. Iris grew up in West Virginia, where she developed a lifelong bond with the Sierra family and an 80 year friendship with Mary Victoria.

Iris married Richard Wand in 1951 and they were happily married until his death in 1983.  They were world travelers and she continued to enjoy traveling with friends for many years after his death.

Iris was a warm, fun loving person--a strong, independent woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She died on May 4, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her sister- in-law, Mary Ann McEachin, her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, her dear cousins in Spain and Argentina who kept in touch and loved her across the miles, as well as her extended Sierra family who also loved her as their Auntie.   Please share a memory with family.
