Houston Edward Smith, 70, of Mancelona / Garden City passed away on January 19, 2020.   Ed was born in Detroit on September 19, 1949 to George and Betty Smith. He graduated from Cooley High School.   Ed worked as a Coil Operator in Detroit most of his life. His son Eddie and his brothers also worked with him during his career in the steel industry, eventually owning Smith Brother Steel shortly before he retired.   Ed enjoyed fishing, boating, reporting the weather ;) and watching sports.   Ed was married to Roberta (aka Bobbie) on May 6th 1967, they were married 22 years. Although they were divorced, they always remained friends, with and without the bickering ;) lol   Ed is survived by his kids; Eddie (Denise), Theresa (Chipper), grandkids; Amanda (Joey), Coty (Kori), Jenna (Justin), Great grandkids; Ava, Richie, Arianna, Isabella, Greyson, Siblings; Bobby, Ray (Margaret), Sheila (Michael), Patricia (John), Carl (Dawn), Jimmy (Nikki), sister in law Barb and will be deeply missed by many niece, nephews, and cousins.   Ed is preceded in death by Father George, Mother Betty, Brother Larry.   Visitation for Houston will be held Thursday, January 23rd, with Family Time from 12:00 - 2:00 PM and Guests from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home.   He will be In-State for Final Visiting on Friday, January 24th from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.
