Grant David Showerman 28, of Novi, MI passed away on October 2, 2021. Grant was born in Walnut Creek, CA on July 19, 1993, to David and Bonnie Showerman.
Grant graduated from Northville High School and continued his education at Schoolcraft college and Madonna University, working towards his nursing degree while receiving high honors and tutoring chemistry to students.
Grant’s world revolved around family, friends, his dogs and his love for clementines. Bringing a few of his “closest friends” up to the cottage meant 20-25. He loved his two siblings, Jenna and Harry, and would spend many hours thinking of creative ways to lovingly torment them. His naturally kind and selfless manor allowed him to get away with this every time.
Grant was known for his unique sense of humor and ability to make people laugh until they cried. He loved snowboarding, tubing, bonfires, cars, and spending time at Glen Lake.
Grant fought schizophrenia disorder since 2014 and finally lost the battle to suicide. Although Grant did his best to be healthy and manage his illness with medication, it was not enough. So often people are defined by their mental illness. Please choose to remember Grant as we do, a beautiful, bright, blue-eyed, kind, funny, gentle soul.
Grant is survived by his parents, David and Bonnie Showerman; siblings Jenna and Harry; his Grandmother Virginia Wolfe, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his favorite dogs Logan and Morgan.
A Funeral Service for Grant will be held Sunday, October 10th at 12:30 pm, with visitation from 1:00 - 3:30 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.
