Gloria Jean Mark

Gloria Jean Strauch-Mark "G", 81, of Northville, Michigan passed away on June 2nd, 2025.

Gloria was born in the city of Wayne, Michigan, on December 15th, 1943 to Elizabeth Dodd and Orland Shagene. She graduated from Bentley High School (class of ‘62) and continued her education earning an associates of Applied Science of Nursing from Schoolcraft College.

Gloria was married to John Mark in 2003. Gloria was formally married to Larry Strauch whom had two children together, Mary and Christopher.

Gloria worked as a Nurse for the American Red Cross and Garden City Hospital and also volunteered with Meal on Wheels. Gloria was one of the most selfless people, impacting numerous lives and would give her last dollar to make sure everyone had everything they needed. She enjoyed playing crossword puzzles, scrabble, going to the casino, gardening, and playing euchre with friends at Kingsmill.

Gloria is survived by brother, John Dodd (Kelly); brother in law, Donald Ruark; children, Lola (cat), Mary (Jim) Iavasile, Christopher Strauch (Sean McIntyre); stepchildren, Debbie (Brad) Cunningham, John Howard (Debbie) Mark, and Donald (Lona) Mark; grandchildren, Heather (Dennis) Wheeler, Matthew (Jackie) Mark, Nicole (Michael) Slater, Landon (Molly) Iavasile, John Cunningham, Morgan Mark (Joe Bakos), Jody Mark, Sebastian (Alexandra) Iavasile, Samantha (Jack) Cunningham, along with many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and other family members.

Gloria is preceded in death by husband, John Mark; sister, Margaret Ruark; brother Ray Shagne, and mother, Elizabeth Dodd.

Gloria’s celebration of life will be held Friday June, 6th 2025 at The Northville Moose Lodge, 18418 Northville Rd., Northville, 48168 from 12:00-3:00 PM. If you knew Gloria please stop by at any time for a drink and bring a memory to share about Gloria.
