David E. Skinner

December 21, 1954 — May 27, 2022

On Friday, May 27, 2022, David E. Skinner of Detroit, Michigan, went to be with the Lord at the age of 67. He is the cherished son of James H. and Ruth M. Skinner who preceded him in death, and cherished brother to Lynn S. Kearbey and Kathleen S. Allardyce, and brother-in-law to Ray Kearbey.

Born in Detroit on December 21, 1954, David completed his education with an MBA from the University of Michigan. His career culminated with his work at Wayne State University where he was instrumental in the technology transfer activity for the University’s intellectual property department.

David was a good soul with a loving heart; one associate described him as “a delightful character who was kind to all.” He was a curious person with many interests including real estate and home remodeling. He will be sorely missed by people who knew him, including his special friends Denise and Mark Tappen.

Visitation for David will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1p.m. at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Road in Livonia, Michigan. He will be buried next to his parents at Glen Eden Cemetery.
