CAROL was 75 years of age at the time of her death. The former general manager of Livonia's Parkview Memorial Cemetery, she--and her beloved husband, Rod, made friends with many hundreds of people in the metropolitan area. Her enthusiasm for service excellence made her a true professional, and a ready source of comfort to the families she aided.
She was also a "down to earth" woman who would wrap her hair in a bandana and set to work in her garden. Each year, getting those tomato plants in the ground, was only surpassed by the enjoyment of picking the ripe fruit.
She loved caring for her family, and will be dearly missed by children: Fred (Ursula) Rost, Vicki Trujillo, Evie (Mike) Noble, Lee (Kelly) Rost, Walter (Yvonne) Rost, and Chris (Peggy) Rost.
She is the loving grandmother of Miranda, Maggie, Hugo, Nathaniel, Ryan, Grace, and Carroll.
Carol will also be missed by her siblings: Jon, Bernie, Christine, Janet, Mary Jo, Joe and Gerry.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 3, from 2 until 8 pm, with a Rosary prayed Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
Final visiting for Carol is Wednesday morning, June 4th, with an In-State period of 10:45 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Catholic Church, 29015 Jamison in Livonia 48154 (Jamison is 1/4 mile south of 5 Mile Road, East of Middlebelt.) Fr. Howard Vogan will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Gateway for Cancer Research, in memory of Carol Milne/for brother-in-law Michael Susalla.
Cremation will take place.
