Carol D. Harmon (Swartz)

Carol Harmon age 83, of Redford, Michigan, passed away on March 22, 2023. She was born on December 25, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Emma and Ray Swartz. She was a Christmas Baby and was fittingly name Carol.

In 1964 she met the love her life, Marlin Harmon at Temple Baptist Church. Knowing that this was his true love, he proposed a few months later and they were married on April 9, 1965, and were married for almost 58 years. Over the next 11 years they welcomed 4 children into a home filled with love. Carol spent her years raising her family and was proud of her profession as a homemaker.

Her life was filled with music, dance, amazing vacations, and many cruises with her husband. She loved nature and the wonders that God created. She took it all in with grace and often said she felt God in her presence during walks in the woods, or just being with nature. Later in life, Carol and Marlin learned to play the Hammer Dulcimer and together they played at their “jam” sessions and often entertained many during their numerous camping trips.

Her last months were spent surrounded by her husband, 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. It was filled with love and Carol’s family was proud to care for her the way she cared for them throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her husband Marlin; children, Daniel Harmon (Sheri), Lynne Harmon, Kimberly Hagstrom (James) and Beth Harmon; grandchildren, Erika (Eric), Amber (Nick), Wayne (Kaelee), Christopher and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Colton, Liam, Audrey, Stella, Natalie and Benjamin.

Carol was met in heaven by her parents, Emma and Raymond Swartz, her brother Ken Swartz, her sister Lorraine Speight and many others that loved her.

Visitation for Carol will be held Saturday, March 25th from 1:00 - 7:00PM with a memorial celebration at 5:00PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt (south of 6 Mile), Livonia 48154.
