Carl Szewski of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 21st, 2026 at the age of 89.

Carl was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 5th, 1936 to Stanley and Antoinette Szewski.

Carl was married to Barbara on April 30th, 1960; they were married for 52 wonderful years and had two beautiful daughters, Michelle and Jeanine. Carl was a very devoted husband and father- making sacrifices and being very involved in his family’s day-to-day life to make sure his family was loved and well taken care of.

Carl worked at Ford Motor Company in operations for 40+ years. He enjoyed summers at his cottage on Torch Lake with his family, traveling, keeping up with the latest news and stocks, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, all while prioritizing his relationship and faith with God.

His joy for life’s most precious moments was perfectly evident with his charismatic smile and personality that radiated anywhere he was. He was a true handyman at heart, willing to fix and help with any project where his expertise was needed. With a servant’s heart, he constantly gave Jesus precedence and made sure to attend Church through weekend Mass and weekday services.

Carl is survived by daughters Michelle (Dave) Ziolko, Jeanine (Ken) Matel; Grandchildren Ryan, Nathan, Kyle (Jackie), Tyler, Taylor, Erika (Clyde); Great-Grandchild Leo.

Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Szewski; his parents Stanley and Antoinette Szewski, and siblings Dolores Szewski, and Eugene (Patricia) Szewski.

Visitation for Carl will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Manns Family Funeral Home in Livonia, with the Rosary being prayed at 6:30pm. On Friday, funeral services will be taking place at St. Genevieve - St. Maurice Catholic Church in Livonia, beginning at 10:30am, Carl will be lying in repose, with Mass starting at 11:00am.
