Annis Lorraine Starr, née Nodine, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 6, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on September 17, 1937, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she lived a life marked by compassion, an upbeat personality, and a zest for adventure that touched all who knew her.

Annis was known for her love of spending time with family and friends, creating joyful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She loved playing Euchre and Scrabble, enjoyed reading, and found joy in her garden. 

She was the loving mother of Cathy Marsh, Jean (Dan) Fortushiniak, Michael (Val) Starr, Peggy Cronenwett, and Mary Starr-Spencer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Kyle, Bradley, Jonathan (Bri), Kelly (Matt), Natalie (Dylan), Heather, Brandon, Shannon (Kirk), Randy (Lindsey), Gary (Stephanie), Alex (Kelly), and Andrew, as well as her great-grandchildren Lily, Lexi, Londyn, Harper, Marley, Savannah, Josephine, Hudson, and Nina. 

Annis was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Starr, her mother Eva Mason, her father William Nodine, and her sister Katherine Nodine. 

Her kindness, adventurous nature, and enduring compassion have left a lasting mark on all who were privileged to know her. She will be sorely missed.
