Anastasia "Del" was born on October 20, 1931, in Yale, Michigan to her parents, Henry and Clara Koch. Del passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Trygier and preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. Koch, Sr. and Clara (nee Gore) Koch and her siblings Anna, Joseph, Marciline, Patricia, George, Jean, and Henry Jr. Del was the loving mother of John (Jill) Trygier, Lisa (Ken) Smigielski, Vickie Trygier, Thomas Trygier Jr., and Christine (Lou) Srock. Del was the cherished grandmother of Jason, Alexzandria, Jessica, and John Henry and great-grandmother to Isabella, Elliott and Zoey. She is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous lifelong friends who were like family.
Del was a homemaker for many years before working as an accounting clerk for Kroger for 25 years. In her early years, she worked at many of Detroit’s legendary retailers including Hughes & Hatcher downtown. She was a trailblazer in her early years, including how she met her husband, calling him for a date which was unheard of in the 1950s. They would marry less than a year later and spend 50 years together raising their five children. She enjoyed traveling, visiting her family around the country, watching the Detroit Tigers and creating a loving and comfortable home. She was the ultimate homemaker and created a home of warmth that had an impact on all who entered. Well known for her cooking, she found joy in embellishing her home for every holiday season. There wasn’t anything Del couldn’t do. She had an innate ability to conquer any task she chose to pursue over the years including, cake decorating, baking, sewing, and even changing oil on the family cars.
Del had a selfless spirit and held the ability to handle each emotional and physical challenge that she would encounter throughout her life. She was the rock of the family. Del was raised in Yale, Michigan on a large family farm where in her early years the family endured many struggles with seven children. But they had each other and family was of great importance to her throughout her life. Del was also very focused on helping others. Never did she complain or ask for more than she had; but always would say that someone needed something more than she did, reflecting back on her early days as a child on the farm. She was thankful to those who cared for her in her final days always sharing a kind word or love with those around her, friends, and strangers alike. The thankfulness that she held in her heart for all of life’s gifts along with her generosity and tireless energy to do her very best for all of those she loved will forever be unmatched. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
