Passed away at the age 87, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Linden, Michigan.
She was born November 10, 1925 in Henry Co., Tennessee to John and Addie (Bomar) Giles. On November 8, 1946 she married Norman L. Mathews and they were married for 64 years before his passing on December 14, 2010. She was a former resident of Southfield and Livonia.
Ruth is survived by her dear son, John (Jackie) Mathews of Plymouth, daughter Sandra (Bob) Barnes of Fenton.
Loving grandmother of three granddaughters, Renee (Mark) Jaroh of Farmington Hills, Laura Mathews of Madison Heights, and Katie (Mitch) Rheingans of Fenton.
She was the grandmother of 3 great-grandsons, Henry Jaroh, Luke and Derek Rheingans.
Visitation for Ruth will be held on Monday, August 26 at 9:00 AM with services at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Oakland Hills Memorial Cemetery in Novi.
